Her approach is mostly but not completely “alla prima.” She uses larger and more prominent brush strokes, emphasizing the pet’s eye expression and painting with a level of instinct rather than only making calculated decisions. Please check into her current work, as it has become more expressive and painterly with time. This artist might not be the best fit if you want a smooth, realistic, photo-like portrait. 1. Front Facing Lighting
The sun or source of light is in front of the subject, not behind it.
2. Subject in the Foreground
The subject is close up, not far in the distance, without being cropped or zoomed in. No Portrait Mode please!
3. Crisp & Clear, not Blurry
If you zoom in on your photo, and it gets blurry, it will not work because I will not be able to see the details.
4. No Screenshots or Downloads
If you are downloading the picture from social media or taking a screenshot of a picture, it will not work.The better the photo you give me, the better the results will be!ORDER A COMMISSION
Step by step:
1. Check Luisa’s pet portraits on her

2. Email Luisa at Info@AziulArt.com about the commission.
3. Once details (size and background) are determined, an agreement will be completed and signed.
4. Email at least three pictures of your pet (follow the guideline above.)
5. Pay a 50% deposit.
6. You will receive 3 pictures of the process.
7. Your portrait will be mailed once the final payment is received.

Luisa Vargas is the owner of AziulArt. She is a Visual Artist and Board Certified Art Therapist. Luisa has years of experience capturing love and life in her portraits. Luisa is a dog mom of Charlie, an adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who passed away in 2021. Luisa enjoyed painting and drawing his beautiful face and soul. However, when he passed away, Luisa dedicated time to processing her and her husband's grief by creating many portraits of him. Luisa recognizes the power of art in connecting and honoring the four-legged family members. Luisa looks to represent pets’ souls and uniqueness in her paintings, so her pet portraits are expressive and unique.
